Emma Balázs is an Australian curator and filmmaker with a PhD from the University of Melbourne on Prince's cultural impact and a Masters degree from The Art Institute of Chicago, where she developed her signature approach to collaborative curatorial practices.

CURATORIAL. Emma is founding curator of the People's Museum for Prince, created as a tribute the artist and all who loved him. First presented in 2018 at Solar Arts during Art-A-Whirl (3,000+ visitors), a new edition of the museum is being developed for 2026 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Prince's passing. Her experience as an independent curator and gallery director at Columbia University and George Mason University ensures professional standards while maintaining authentic community engagement and refined visual style.

FILM. A VCA film school graduate and Cinevex Screenplay Award recipient, Emma received Australian Film Commission feature development funding. Her film work has been licensed by SBS Television. Festival screenings include St Kilda, St Louis International, Exposure, Mediawave (Hungary), and the Festival of Films on Art at the Pompidou Centre, Paris. Current projects include shorts Dearly Beloved and Claude et Moi, and a feature film Dearly Beloved currently in development, inspired by her transformative experience of moving to Minneapolis in the wake of Prince's passing.
